(More customer reviews)After reading a handful of reviews of the various options for drafting chairs on Amazon.com it was clear that spending under a $100 might not be the best idea if one is seeking a quality chair. There were plenty of well reviewed chairs under $100, yet several of the reviews had noted quirks related to sturdiness, pneumatic failures, etc. Instead of purchasing this through Amazon I went to a local merchant and bought it. Not only was their price with in $5 (once shipping is included) it allowed me the opportunity to try some of the chairs out.
I not only was impressed with the stability of this chair at it's maximum height, I also notice no waivering in the pneumatic lift. I'm around 250 lbs. so obviously I don't want something that is going to break on me. The salesmen had me sold when he told me it easily supports up to 260 lbs and the chair and pneumatic lift are warrantied for up to 5 years. He also noted the foot rest height easily adjusts via a knob.
I also tried a few drafting chairs at Office Max and one in particular from selling at $99. Although the chair was sturdy, it did not have the overall security this chair offered.
