(More customer reviews)Now that I've got this table fully constructed and sitting in my dining room, I love it. It looks fantastic, is perfect for entertaining, and is a great space-saver. The counter-level height and the Asian-inspired barstools are chic, functional, and sturdy.
Shipping was fast: I ordered it from Target's website on a Thursday, and it arrived the following Tuesday. The shipping box was huge (4 feet square, 8 inches thick) and weighed about 90 pounds -- had to have a neighbor help me carry it inside. Happily, all the pieces were in perfect condition.
Putting the table together was amazingly easy: you just use the hardware and open-end wrench that come with the set to connect everything. The table was possibly the easiest piece of furniture I've ever put together.
On the other end of the spectrum are the barstools. The screws can only be tightened using the tiny Allen wrench provided in the hardware kit, and all the pre-drilled holes seemed either too tight or too short -- very frustrating. If you have a corresponding drill bit, you'll be in great shape and will probably have the barstools done in 30 minutes. If, like me, you don't have a drill bit, you'll be doing it by hand. I've put together a lot of DIY furniture, and these barstools were some of most difficult I've ever done.
Despite the difficulty of putting together the barstools (one star off for that), I really love the looks and functionality of this dining set and expect to enjoy it for many years to come.
