(More customer reviews)I needed to get some xtra tall stools for my 44" kitchen bar so my kids could sit at the counter. These were SO easy to assemble. Were packed pretty well, though there were a couple of very tiny "dings" on two of the four bases, nothing noticable. The fabric doesn't have that rich leather look, more of a dull pleather, but is a pleasant deep dark brown shade, seems durable.
Air lift system seems solid so far. Seating is comfortable enough. The base is a little more on the tippy side than I'd like, but it is really more of an issue when you are moving the chairs around, once seated they seem pretty stable. I think that is probably the case with any of the rounded based stools verses the 4 legged variety. I am comfortable enough with this to allow my kids 3 & 7 to climb up & down unassisted even at the fully extended height, which measures 34". My hubby & I both hover closer to the 200lb range, & these seem pretty stable even fully raised for us as well, just a slight wiggle in the stem. Of course we use the lever while sitting to lower the chair to a more reasonable level for adults & it slowly & smoothly brings us down to where we'd like.
I've only had these for a couple of days & am pleased with them. If the levers stop working, seams burst or someone takes a fall, I will be sure to update this review, but so far I would say I think these are a good choice. Especially if you need exceptionally tall or adjustable stools.
