My husband did have a bit of trouble with assembly. There are holes to guide you where to place the screws but the directions were not as clear and he ended up taking it apart one and then correctly putting it together.
The only downfall is that the chair doesn't come with anything to hide the holes where the screws go. Thus you have a rocking chairs with holes on the side.
