(More customer reviews)My mom is older and recently I raised her bed using bed risers so that she could store stuff underneath. This made the bed pretty high for her so I purchased this bed stool to help give her a little lift. She is 5'2" and this works really great. It comes as naked unpainted pine(just like it says!) and I have it paired with a wrought iron headboard bed. I can also vouch that it's stable because my Mom is not the most balanced person in the world due to some illnesses but she manages to get in and out of bed with no problems (no tipping over, etc.).
Mom hasn't decided whether to paint or varnish it or leave it as is. It looks great just as it comes so we'll see what she feels like. It came packaged great in a good size box with protection. The manufacturer is quite good - it's not a cheaply made piece but made out of real wood (no particle board stuff here!).
